AutismTrek is committed to making this website accessible to all visitors, including people using assistive technologies. We are working towards compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What We Do
- Maintain colour contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA standards throughout the site
- Support keyboard navigation on all pages
- Use clear heading structures for screen reader compatibility
- Avoid autoplay media, flashing content, and unexpected layout changes
- Provide text alternatives for images
- Use a minimum body text size of 16px with adequate line spacing
- Design with predictable, consistent navigation patterns
- Offer six display themes (calm, warm, and high-contrast in both light and dark modes) to accommodate diverse sensory preferences
- Provide user-controlled text scaling across four sizes
- Default images to off, allowing users to toggle them on when ready

- Video transcriptions for all multimedia content
- Expanded alternative text descriptions
- Ongoing testing with screen readers and assistive technologies
